LAURENCE NERBONNE
ARTISTE PEINTRE
Bio
Born in Outaouais
Lives & works Montreal, CA
Since her first gallery show in 2007 at the age of 22, multidisciplinary artist
Laurence Nerbonne has exhibited her paintings here and abroad. Her canvasses have notably been featured at Galerie Mx (Montreal), Las Olas Fine Art (USA), Thompson Landry Gallery (Toronto) and in various Maisons de la culture. After a five-year hiatus to focus on her musical career, she is back with HIGHLY SENSITIVE / HAUTEMENT SENSIBLE, a new series of large acrylic paintings that puts the human figure at the core of the pictorial approach. Hosted in collaboration with Galerie S16, HIGHLY SENSITIVE / HAUTEMENT SENSIBLE invites visitors to witness Laurence’s encounter with her subjects. The observant eye is keen to become that of the painter’s, allowing the viewer to discover a standpoint reflective of the vulnerability projected into it. The artist’s creations bring forth a state of ultrasensitivity, putting the spectator’s gaze at the very heart of the action by allowing
it to explore and design it’s own experience.
